Where You Belong.
Community
A community is what holds us all together. It’s how we provide support to one another. It’s a place that we all belong.
If you’re new to our community, welcome. If you’re an old friend, welcome back. We take this community seriously and we hope you do too.
Community is one of the three pillars of this convention. Check out some of our initiatives below.
-
Hidden Truths Project
Join HTP as they host several art workshops to educate, empower, and inspire through creative expression. Their exhibit features works of art from a global community of people with epilepsy sharing their stories through art.
-
Community Building
Join Ethan Zohn, winner of CBS’s Survivor: Africa, as he guides us through some Survivor-like challenges designed to promote teamwork, communication, and making friends!
-
Child Care Assistance
We will be offering assistance with child care throughout the Convention!
Info on reserving a spot coming soon.
-
Youth Formal
Did you know, some people haven’t been allowed to attend their own prom because “a seizure could ruin it for everyone else”? We plan to fix that with a seizure-safe youth formal!
-
Providers' Banquet Dinner
Everyone deserves to unwind and relax!
All providers are encouraged to join us for a cocktail hour, tasty dinner, and a special presentation.
-
After-Hours Mixer
Looking to continue the fun into the evening? Join us for music, light bites, beverages, and lots of fun as we host a mixer for those wanting extra time to socialize!
CREATE.
We are excited to announce our collaboration with Hidden Truth Project at NEEC!
Together, we are integrating art as education through a dynamic series of visual displays and interactive workshops.
Hidden Truth Project will be presenting a three-day Art of Epilepsy exhibition! The opening night gallery event on Thursday, September 4th at the Banquet Dinner, will be highlighting their New England artists impacted by epilepsy.
September 4th, at our Providers Banquet Dinner. This will be featuring works from artists impacted by epilepsy. In addition to the exhibit, we will be hosting art workshops during the event, designed to educate, empower, and inspire through creative expression.

DANCE.
It all began with being told “No”.
Can you imagine not being allowed at your prom because of epilepsy? Maybe you don’t have to imagine. Maybe you know.
When others say no, we say yes. In fact, we say dance. So join us as we host the first NEEC Youth Formal.
This dance is intended for those that are developmentally in their teens and will be produced in a seizure-safe manner. There will be a DJ spinning tunes, formal pictures, kid friendly beverages, and lots of laughs. There will be a team of chaperones as well, led by Dr. John Gaitanis, to ensure safety for all attendees.
Parents, while your kids are getting their party on, head over to the after-hours mixer to hang out until they’re danced-out.
NETWORK.
Providers deserve some fun too, right?
Join us for an elegant night of networking, relaxing, and learning. As a thank you to our incredible community of providers, this free event (with RSVP) includes a cocktail/networking hour, a formal banquet dinner, and a keynote presentation by Dr. Phillip Pearl.
Cocktail hour will take place in the Mt. Auburn Ballroom and our dinner will be one floor up in the Charles View Ballroom. Soak in panoramic views of the city as the sun sets on our first day at the convention.
Presentation details to be announced soon. Please use the link below to RSVP. This event is for providers only. Limited capacity available.
